  • Knowledge

The student will be able to:

    • Demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of the principles and practice of ultrasonography in perioperative and critical care. This will also include the relevant basic sciences.
    • Possess in-depth knowledge of specific areas and various modules contained in the syllabus.
    • Develop and imbibe an evidence based method of clinical practice.
  • Clinical practice

The student will be able to:

    • Acquire competencies in assessing patients, planning and undertaking relevant procedures. This will include troubleshooting and management of complications.
    • Demonstrate reasonable skill levels appropriate for that level of experience.
  • Interpersonal skills

The student will be able to:

    • Contribute as a team player with an ability to work and lead the team.
    • Demonstrate communication skills as regards patients and colleagues.
    • Develop non-technical skills as relevant to the professional practice.
  • Research & Audit

The student will be able to:

    • Access and retrieve online journals and databases.
    • Critically evaluate clinical and scientific literature.
    • Design, undertake and present audit and research projects.
    • The students will be encouraged to send their assignments for publication e.g. in IJUTPC as original, special or review articles (the successful publication may earn a few credit points towards the PG course).
    • The students will be encouraged to send interesting case reports for publication.
